Why only hard lefties love Rep. Jamaal Bowman

“If elected, George Latimer would make an excellent congressman,” state Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs told The Post in an unsubtle snub of the incumbent that Latimer’s challenging: Hamas-backing, fire-alarm-pulling Rep. Jamaal Bowman.

It’s a clear sign the party establishment knows Bowman is bad news, not least thanks to his Squadian contempt for Israel.

Even Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-B’klyn) probably agrees that the two-term incumbent is utter poison; he’s just keeping quiet about it since he’s the top House Democrat.

Latimer, the Westchester County exec, looks to be leading with bare weeks remaining in the primary race, and for good reason.

Bowman’s antics and poisonous rhetoric are so negative that even fellow progressive and former ally ex-Rep. Mondaire Jones just shifted his support to Latimer.

“I am making this endorsement to stand up for my Jewish constituents, because Rep. Bowman and I have very different views on Israel,” explained Jones.

It’s easy to understand why regular Dems are moving toward Latimer, who’s campaigning as a staunch ally of the Jewish state.

In the aftermath of the horrific Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel, Bowman twice voted against separate House resolutions supporting Israel, condemning Hamas, calling for the release of all hostages and denouncing antisemitism on college and university campuses.

Plus, he’s on video calling Israel an “apartheid” state and questioning the mass sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas terrorists against Israeli women, which he called “propaganda” (backtracking only after the video surfaced).

He held a campaign fundraiser featuring Hamas-sympathizer Nihad Awad of the radical Council on American-Islamic Relations, whom the White House disavowed after he celebrated the Oct. 7 attacks.

From his nutty YouTube shenanigans to his claims that 9/11 was an inside job to his constant race-baiting to his House censure over his fire alarm-pull stunt, Jamaal Bowman has shown he simply lacks the temperament and character needed to be an honorable and effective member of Congress.

And his fellow New York Democrats know it.

On June 25, Democratic voters in Westchester and The Bronx will be able to boot him from the November ballot.
