USA cricket star Saurabh Netravalkar works as engineer at Oracle

Don’t quit your day job — even if you are a star of the USA cricket team.

Saurabh Netravalkar, one of Team USA’s top players, has retained his position as an engineer at Oracle while playing for the cricket team for the past six and a half years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The 32-year-old cricketer, originally from India, helped lead the U.S. to victory against Pakistan in Grand Prairie, Texas, on Thursday in one of the biggest upsets in Twenty20 World Cup history.

The U.S. ended a super over — a tie-breaker where each team plays an additional over of six balls to determine the winner of the match — with 18 runs.

Team USA capitalized on two wides from Pakistan, which was favored in Group A and won it all in 2009, and held their opponents to 13 runs.

In addition to his full-time job and professional cricket career, Netravalkar also attended graduate school at Cornell University.

Before he came stateside, he graduated from the University of Mumbai in 2013, and was a co-founder of “CricDeCode,” a cricket player analysis app, according to ESPN Cricinfo.

He did all of this while playing for Team India.

He then came to the U.S. in 2015 to develop both his professional and athletic careers.

He’s been at Oracle since 2016, holding various roles, and he joined the U.S. national squad in 2017-18, according to Sporting News.
