‘RHONY’ alum Leah McSweeney reveals Lyme disease diagnosis

Leah McSweeney has revealed she was diagnosed with Lyme disease.

The “Real Housewives of New York City” alum, 41, took to her Instagram Story Thursday to share a screenshot of her test results.

“IM SHOOK,” she told her followers. “Please send success stories of healing from Lyme.”

McSweeney made sure to note, “It’s a new infection not chronic,” meaning she likely recently got bit by a blacklegged (deer) tick carrying borrelia bacteria.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, typical symptoms of Lyme disease — a bacterial infection — include fever, headache, fatigue and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans.

If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart and the nervous system, per the CDC.

The agency makes sure to note that following antibiotic treatment, about 5 to 10 percent of those diagnosed with Lyme disease will experience prolonged symptoms of fatigue, body aches or difficulty thinking as a result of their infection.

Still, not much is known about chronic Lyme disease.

“Apologies to all my friends who I’ve canceled on in the past Couple months cus I was feeling like s–t,” McSweeney added.

She went on to post a photo showing 16 vials of her blood laid out on a counter.

“Everything is great 😂,” she wrote sarcastically atop the picture.

In February, she filed a lawsuit against both the network and executive producer Andy Cohen, claiming they preyed on her alcohol issues in an attempt to generate favorable ratings for “RHONY” and “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.”

The mother of one took aim at Cohen, specifically, claiming he offered cocaine to certain talent to whom he would then hand special professional favors.

Cohen adamantly denied the allegations, and his attorneys demanded an apology.

Though he never got one, a network spokesperson told Page Six last week that an “outside investigation” showed that the claims made against the “Watch What Happens Live” host were “found to be unsubstantiated.”

McSweeney’s lawyers called BS.

“How do you have an investigation without speaking to anyone? As far as we know, no one ever contacted our firm,” one of her attorneys said after the news made headlines. “Our opinion is that no one is going to believe this was a real investigation.”

“This is perfect timing. One line so they can repeat it to all the advertisers at the upfronts,” the lawyer added.

“We look forward to reviewing all of the interviews, evidence and final reports of the investigation that NBCU conducted, when we receive them during the discovery phase of the lawsuit.”
