The “One Tree Hill” family is splintered.
Bethany Joy Lenz confirmed she had a falling out with her former “One Tree Hill” co-star Hilarie Burton on Wednesday’s episode of “Call Her Daddy.”
“I love Hilarie. I have always and will always and I don’t have any problem with her,” Lenz, 43, told host Alex Cooper, who brought up that fans have been speculating that the former co-stars are feuding since they stopped following each other on social media.
“There have been some bizarre misunderstandings that I really hope we can figure out one day,” Lenz added. “But I love that girl.”
The Post has reached out to Burton’s rep for comment.
Lenz and Burton stayed close friends for years after starring on the beloved teen drama show together from 2003 to 2009. They even started an “OTH” rewatch podcast, called “Drama Queens,” with co-star Sophia Bush in 2021.
However, fans noticed that the pair unfollowed each other on Instagram at the beginning of the year, seemingly because of drama that has to do with Lenz’s memoir, “Dinner For Vampires.”
The book, which was announced in February and comes out next week with stories about Lenz’s experience in a cult, has a cover that looks similar to that of Burton’s 2023 memoir “Grimoire Girl.”
Burton took to her Instagram Story after Lenz’s book reveal and wrote, “I don’t think imitation is the highest form of flattery, I think it’s annoying.”
Then in March, Burton was absent from a promo video that Lenz and Bush, 42, shot to announce the “Drama Queens” YouTube channel.
Come July, Burton announced that she was stepping away from the podcast, with her reason being that the podcast was going into Season 7, which is when Burton stopped appearing on “OTH.”
“We have reached the end of my behind-the-scenes experience on the show,” Burton said on the podcast, which now features former co-star Robert Buckley in her place.
Burton, however, is involved in the upcoming “OTH” sequel series at Netflix. She and Bush will reprise their roles as Peyton Sawyer and Brooke Davis, respectively.
It has not been confirmed if Lenz will return as Haley James Scott.
“I am absolutely open to being a part of a revisiting to Tree Hill. But as far as this particular one, I don’t know. It’s so early,” Lenz told Variety after the sequel series was announced in August.
“I don’t know if it’s in pilot, I don’t know if it’s in series. I don’t know where it’s at,” she added.
