The second season of the Prime Video series Mr. and Mrs. Smith is going to feature new leads!
Donald Glover and Maya Erskine led the first season, but they seemingly are not going to return as John and Jane in season two. It appears the series is taking the anthology show route with a new storyline each season.
Deadline reports that Amazon MGM Studios is searching for an actor and actress in their 20s who will only have to sign one-year deals for the show.

Billie Eilish is rumored to be circling the role of Jane in season two, but it’s not yet clear if she’s been given a formal offer. She previously made her acting debut in an episode of Prime Video’s Swarm, also created by Donald Glover.
At the end of season one, it was unclear if Donald and Maya‘s characters had survived and the season ended on a cliffhanger. It’s also unclear if the recasting means the characters died or if they just won’t be featured again. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see!
