The director of the film, Oz Perkins, told Indie Wire that his parents’ dark history is what inspired the story for the film.

Perkins father, Anthony Perkins, is known to all horror fans as he starred as Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film “Psycho”.

Perkins has also directed previous horror films, like “The Blackcoat’s Daughter” and “Gretel and Hansel”.

What is the Movie Longlegs Based On?

The film follows an FBI agent (Munroe) who is tracking down a serial killer that is affiliated with the occult.

The official trailer gave viewers a taste of the suspense to come, with little teasers pointing at Cage’s terrifying portrayal of the killer, Longlegs.

Neon, the film’s production company, recently posted a promotional TikTok that shows Monroe seeing Cage as the killer for the first time.

The TikTok has now hit 5.1 millionv views.

Where was It Filmed?

According to the Vancouver Sun, the film was shot in the Vancouver area at the beginning of 2023.
