July 5, 2024– According to this TikTok video posted by user @chloelariccia, the LCBO has officially entered its first strike in Canadian history. The union recently announced that they will be heading to the picket lines so for the next 14 days, LCBO retail locations will be closed.

As a result, the LCBO has confirmed the news on X- formerly known as Twitter- to state a reminder that with the strike underway, all LCBO retail locations are closed.

This is the first time LCBO has gone on strike and all stores across the province closed on Friday, July 5, 2024. However, mobile orders through LCBO’s website and app will continue, in which those can acess for free home delivery anywhere in Ontario- even during the strike.

According to this related article, if a deal has not been reached by the two sides by July 19, only 32 LCBO retil stores will open provincewide for in-store shopping. However, their hours of operation will only be Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays with “limited hours in effect.”
