As season 3 of BET+’s hit series Zatima continues, viewers are seeing more of the brotherly bond between Zac and his friends, and the actors playing the trio think it’s no coincidence.

Cameron Fuller (Nate), Remington Hoffman (Bryce), and Guyviaud Joseph (Tony) continue to play integral roles in helping Zac navigate both personal and professional challenges, and during a chat with BOSSIP’s Managing Editor Dani Canada, they discussed how their off-screen camaraderie reflects their on-screen chemistry.

“We’re friends in real life,” said Cameron. “I think that’s the biggest thing around the show. We communicate regularly and genuinely love being around each other. We want the best for each other. We’re just on a high right now, ecstatic and excited about season three.”

The brotherhood is evident, not only in their chemistry but also in their support for Zac during his tough times, including as he struggles to deal with his brother’s addiction; and the consequences that come with it.

“The key ingredient of any brotherhood is honesty,” said Cameron. “These guys have grown up with Zac and have known him for almost their whole lives. So while sometimes they’re a bit too honest, there’s never any judgment—just love.” He went on to say, “It’s a no-judgment zone with the brotherhood. We gonna ridicule for you for it, but it’s all out of love.”

Speaking of judgment, Remington confirmed that Bryce is still facing some after he hit on Zac and after that failed investment. This stress is apparently getting to him and viewers saw exactly just how much it was in a recent episode.

“In season three, Bryce is working hard to mend things with both Zac and Angela,” said Remington. “He’s been more truthful, and it’s his time to try to repair these relationships after everything that’s happened.”

As for Tony, who Joseph portrays, he’ll continue to be the voice of reason within the group who continues to offer Zac solid advice and guides him towards maturity.

“In season three, Tony’s for Zatima,” Joseph told BOSSIP. “He realizes Fatima is the best thing for Zac in terms of growth, maturity, and long-term goals. So he’s trying to keep Zatima together while figuring out the best way to be honest with Zac.”

As for Nate, he’s unsurprisingly continuing to be messy in season 3 which has caused some friction in the past, especially with Fatima, but this time Nate might have some growth.

“At the end of season two, Nathan finally apologized to Fatima for his attitude and disrespect,” he said. “This season, he’s more focused on being a good friend to Zac, trying to grow up a little. He’s not willing to risk their friendship anymore.”
