Armed crook steals $250K cash from man outside NYC airport hotel: police

An armed robber swiped a bag filled with $250,000 in cash from a man outside a Queens hotel Thursday, police said.

The thief flashed a gun at a 45-year-old man who was carrying the money-stuffed bag and grabbed it from him outside the New York LaGuardia Airport Marriott hotel in East Elmhurst at around 6:11 p.m., according to the NYPD.

The crook then hopped in a silver vehicle and fled with the cash in an unknown direction.

It’s unclear why the victim was carrying so much cash or if he was staying at the hotel, located at 102-05 Ditmars Ave., or otherwise affiliated with it in any way.

A front desk employee at the hotel said he was unable to comment on the robbery when reached by phone.

There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
