Angel Reese ejected after controversial double technical vs. Liberty

Just days after her teammate Chennedy Carter made headlines for her flagrant foul of Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese had her own moment with WNBA referees.

Reese, late in the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s 88-75 loss to the Liberty, was given a double technical and promptly ejected from the game after seemingly having some words for one of the game’s officials.

With 2:31 left in the game, Reese was whistled for her fifth personal foul after going for a defensive rebound following a Sabrina Ionescu missed 3-pointer and appeared to have some words with umpire Charles Watson.

As Reese started walking away toward the key, he blew his whistle and issued the two technicals, booting her from the game.

Before the ejection, the rookie out of LSU had matched her career high with 13 points to go along with 10 rebounds in what was her second double-double in the WNBA.

It was not the only contentious moment in the game, as Betnijah Laney-Hamilton of the Liberty and Marina Mabrey were issued double technicals when they got physical — with both players giving each other shoves — late in the third quarter.
