The Met Gala may be over, but Kim Kardashian isn’t done posting photos of her elaborate outfit.
On Thursday, the Skims founder, 43, took to Instagram to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at how her waist-cinching Maison Margiela look came together. She shared multiple photos from her fitting, along with a few that showed her getting dressed for the fashion-focused event.
“The making of…” she captioned the gallery, which began with a picture of her holding hands with designer John Galiano.
While there were plenty of shots of Kardashian’s tight silver corset — which whittled her waist to the extreme and made it difficult for her to breathe — the reality star also took the opportunity to show off her shoes, which had previously been hidden by the floor-length skirt.
The strappy, clear sandals included an intense platform and no heel, which prompted friends and family members to comment on the bold footwear choice.
“Damsel in distress,” wrote Khloé Kardashian. “That invisible heel is wild! How did you manage? I definitely would have fallen.”
Even Snooki of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” couldn’t help but share some thoughts.
“I’m gonna wear those heels my next meatball day,” she joked. Fans questioned “are you ok” and said, “I’m afraid you’re made for this 😭🔥, you’d do ANYTHING for a good look!!!”
Others commented on the eye-popping corset, with one writing, that she looks to be in “agony” and another remarking, “Kim is extreme when it comes to dressing.”
Other people, however, were still focused on the knit gray sweater that Kardashian layered over the metallic look.

“She ruined the look with that stupid sweater. The dress was gorgeous!” read one comment, while another person wrote, “Wish u wouldn’t have wore that damn sweater 😩😩😍😍.”
The mom of four did explain the reasoning behind the unexpected layer, which she told Vogue spoke to the Met Gala’s “Garden of Time” theme, representing the aftermath of “the wildest night of [her] life in a garden.”
“I just ran out and grabbed my boyfriend’s sweater and threw it on and had to get to work,” she said of the concept, adding, “And my hair is all messed up.”
Since attending the celeb-filled ball, Kardashian has seemingly gravitated toward more comfortable, loose-fitting staples.
Last week, she was seen trading her tiny corset for an oversized blazer while leaving a photo shoot — though she hit up an LA Sparks WNBA game, sitting courtside with daughter North West in a tight black dress.
As for the Met, we’re counting down the days until her next standout red carpet ‘fit.
